Business Technology
Year 1: 12 Credits

Students receive extensive training and experience in the use of computer technologies needed for careers in the business world today. This program focuses on personal and career development, accounting, communication, and leadership skills, and up-to-date technology, set in a modern office environment. Students learn to use Work, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and the Internet, as well as experiment with the latest tech tools , with a major project utilizing all of the technology learned.

Year 2: 12 credits


Prerequisite: Successful completion of Business Technology 1

In the second year, students will continue instruction on advanced computer technology and business skills. Students will also be able to concentrate on a particular area of interest with the emphasis in: Business Technology, Accounting & Finance, or E-Business

Concentrations:

  1. Business Technology: This specialty area allows students to learn advanced computer applications, business procedures, and leadership skills.
  2. Accounting & Financial Services: This specialty area allows students to learn advanced accounting, business procedures, and computerized accounting features.
  3. E-Business: This specialty area allows students to learn web design, business procedures, and internet technologies.

Embedded Credit: Program Completer shall receive 4 English credits.

Articulation Agreements: Vermont Technical College (VTC) and Community College of Vermont (CCV)

Industrial Recognized Credentials: IC3 and Microsoft Office Specialist

CTSO: FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
