CAD Techniques: A narrative about the program.
Computer Aided Design is a lot like learning a new language without the grammar or tongue twisting. Design is the language of industry and the CAD software the tool of today's Architects and Industrial Designers. The goal of the program is the achievement and an understanding of the software and ones abilities to apply it to real world situations. Therefore, the ability to analyze a problem for the best utilization of the software will be developed along with the problem solving design phase. Computer Aided Design has value for all students because industrial development plays a major role in shaping our society and the world. A knowledge of the composition, design and applications of the basic materials, tools, products and procedures of industries is gained through guided laboratory experiences. The ability to work in a group and the proper attitude toward work is also stressed in all phases of the program. Occupational guidance experiences are important as the student is guided through exploratory design experiences. Both architectural and mechanical in nature, many of these design problems will be built working from your drawings. Project work is the motivational experience through which much of the content of the course is taught. The project itself is not the end product but only a means of instruction.
