Green Industry Technologies
Year 1 Introduction to Green Industry Technologies: 12 credits

Prerequisite: Biology or Earth Science

This program is s stepping stone to either of the second year programs, Green House Management or Landscape Design. Students will study plant physiology, plant reproduction and cloning. All participants will be using start of the art equipment and technology in the areas of plant reproduction to prepare them for entry level or college intro classes. Areas of concentration to include; greenhouse and nursery management, holiday centerpiece and wreath making, floral arranging, hydroponics, aquaponics and micropropagation.

Year 2: Students may select the discipline that they wish to study

Greenhouse Management 12 credits
This program is designed to prepare the student for the running and operation of a commercial greenhouse or nursery. Students will study more to advanced techniques in industry. Propagation of plants under laboratory, sterile conditions will be covered. Other topics of will include setting up and running an e-store and web site, bookkeeping and plant mass production, wholesale and retail sales and portfolio that will assist them in obtaining employment.


Landscape Design 12 credits
This program is designed for the student who enjoys the outdoors and computers. Each year students, in effect, run a landscape business. From computer design generation to customer consultation, measuring and drawing, pricing and quoting, selecting plants and the execution of the final project is created from beginning to end, how a landscape project is created from start to finish!
